Where are the highest numbers of older adults living alone?
While there are no data sources for people who are "solo aging" according to current definitions, the U.S. Census reports on who is living alone. We use this as a proxy for solo aging.
The U.S. Census data map shows the concentration of people 65 and older living alone across the country.
The chart below presents data on older adults living alone in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
